A Firm Commitment
to Diversity

Public Justice and the Public Justice Foundation value diversity in the legal profession and, through this initiative, we encourage others to join us in making a firm commitment to diversity.

We – and the firms and groups we have authorized to display this logo button on their web sites – recognize the value of diversity within private law firms, legal organizations, and throughout the legal community. And we want to raise awareness and prompt discussion of the value of diversity within the legal profession. Therefore, we make a firm commitment to promote diversity by:

  • Offering equal opportunities for employment and promotion, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, or disability;
  • Recognizing the value of diversity in recruiting attorneys of color, female attorneys, attorneys with disability, and attorneys from other underrepresented groups;
  • Recognizing the value of diversity in recruiting law students, administrative staff, and legal support staff;
  • Reviewing our policies and procedures to make sure they reflect our commitment to diversity;
  • Regularly reviewing our efforts and achievements in promoting diversity; and
  • Supporting and participating in activities and organizations that encourage all dimensions of diversity.

If you would like your law firm or legal organization to join with us in making a firm commitment to diversity, click here to use the online form or write to Outreach Coordinator Cassandra Goings to find out how to do so. Later this year, we will post a state-by-state, alphabetical list of law firms and legal organizations that have made a firm commitment to diversity and that display this logo button on their site with a link back to this page.

To find more than 50 national, statewide, or local minority bar associations and women's bar associations, visit Public Justice's Database for Public Interest Advocates.
