On October 4,
2002, TLPJ received an Unsers
Info Award. Award Master Kai-Uwe Hagemann of Germany stated, "I
could see the hard work you put in your web site. The navigation is
clearly structured and your site is informative."
On October 7,
2002, TLPJ received an AJCF
Silver Lungs Award. The AJCF Awards are intended to promote
awareness of cystic
fibrosis and to recognize web sites that "breathe life into
people each day, giving them something that they can use to improve
their own daily lives." Award Master James
Binegar stated, "I
really appreciate the professional refinement presented in your
website." "I know that the legal resources you share and
continue to provide are a valuable asset to many. I think your site has
a clean, consistent layout and design. It is my pleasure to present you
with the AJCF Silver Lungs Award. I wish you continued
success."
Also in October
2002, TLPJ received an Ulla's
Site Excellence Award. The purpose of this award program is "to
promote web sites that make the Internet a more interesting and useful
place and to honor web designers who have put many hours of hard work
and determination into their sites." "Thank you for helping
make the web a more interesting place to visit," said Award Master
Ulla Ojanlatva.
On October 8,
2002, TLPJ received a Premio
Fiamma Award. Award co-founders Andrea and Lynda stated that the
site shows "heart and soul with
great content." "Your design is lovely and navigation is
excellent. We enjoyed our visit to your site."
On October 9,
2002, the Duke of
URL designated TLPJ's site a "Classy Site Pick." "Websites,
such as yours, are selected for their interesting content, classy design
and/or helpful information," wrote founder Jim Kirk-White. "Of
particular interest to the 50+ Friends' Club, this site offers a free, searchable
database of 2,300 public interest groups, sorted by 35 focus areas,
including consumer protection, health care, and elder law & seniors'
rights."
On October 31,
2002, humor columnist Madeleine Begun Kane selected TLPJ's site as a MadPick
Site Award winner and posted a review in the law-related resources
page of her site. Kane described TLPJ as a "national public
interest law firm that fights for justice through precedent-setting and
socially significant litigation designed to enhance consumer and
victims' rights, environmental protection and safety, civil rights and
civil liberties, workers' rights, America's civil justice system, etc."
She continued, "Its site offers an excellent public interest
database, free publications, and more."
On November 2,
2002, Eli's
Homework Helpers honored TLPJ with an award that recognizes the
site's educational and social value to students. "We
found your site to be well designed, with very interesting and
informative content, consistency, and appropriate usage of color,"
said founder Sandra Gaffney, who teaches at a bilingual school in Mexico
City. "Thank you very much for applying for our award. We enjoyed
immensely our visit, and were very impressed with your site. Once again
congratulations."
On November 8,
2002, TLPJ received a Visions
Award from Austrian artist and writer Doris Gulewycz, who
lauded the site's "clear and pleasant design," easy
navigation, and "very great content for everyone who needs
help."
"You may find help where you need it when your rights
have been violated," wrote Gulewycz.
On November 10,
2002, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice received an "Orchid
Award for Page Excellence."
Web master Linda Fortner bestowed
the award "in recognition of your hard work in the creation of such
an excellent page."
This award recognizes web sites that "have something to say"
and provide visitors with useful content, an easy-to-follow navigation
plan and solid page design.
